Brett Sachs, DPM, FACFAS is a gifted and compassionate foot and ankle surgeon practicing at Rocky Mountain Foot and Ankle Center in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. After working in private practice for four years, Dr. Sachs joined Rocky Mountain Foot & Ankle Center in 2005. He is also part owner of the practice.
Besides the common foot and ankle complaints that bring patients to the practice – like ingrown toenails and heel pain – Dr. Sachs has extensive training and experience in reconstructive foot and ankle surgery, total ankle replacement, arthroscopy, trauma, sports medicine, and regenerative medicine. Dr. Sachs is board certified in foot surgery as well as reconstructive rearfoot and ankle surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
Dr. Sachs earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Biology at the University of Maryland and went on to complete his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree at Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1998. He then served a three-year podiatric surgical residency at Highlands/Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Denver, followed by an orthopedic trauma residency at Kaiser Permanente in San Francisco in 2001. Dr. Sachs is a leader in his community and currently serves as faculty for the Highlands-Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Podiatric Medicine and Surgery Residency Program. He has held various academic appointments for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Sachs is a nationally recognized lecturer and instructor of surgical skills workshops. Dr. Sachs has authored textbook chapters in trauma, ankle arthroscopy, and surgery in addition to several publications in peer reviewed clinical and surgical research journals, and expert opinion papers. He has a special interest in reconstructive surgery, the treatment of foot and ankle injuries, and cartilage restoration science. Dr. Sachs is also a manuscript peer reviewer for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and past president of the Colorado Foot & Ankle Society. Dr. Sachs currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Highlands Foot and Ankle Institute and Colorado State Podiatry Board.
